Interests: I bike a lot. I play foota a lot, (Foota, for all of those unpriviledged people that I know that have never been able to play foota, is the climax of sport. There is something in the US that is called soccer, but it is much different from foota. Soccer is a sport that American girls play. Foota is what the rest of the world plays.) usually just in my small front yard, but occasionally with other people. And biking, well there are many crazy stories that I could relate right now, but you'll have to ask me yourself! After high school I hope to study engineering, and I plan to come back here to Kenya, live with my family, and put what I learn at Univ. to practice in various differnt ways. After that I want to come back here to Kenya and work out in the bush for a year or two. Before I'm too old and miss the chance. But, what the heck! Who am I to worry about tomorrow? It's all in the Lord's hands so I ain't got nothin to worry about!
Expertise: I bike a lot. I have a good size library of Foota tricks but I can't use any of them on the field! I've started rock climbing a lot. And have become quite advanced in it in a very short time. Maths and Music are some of my favorate subjets.

All right everybody, I know that you probably all think that I've fallen off the end of the world, or been lost in the bush somewhere, or fell into a deep dark pit, or got lost in the jungle somewhere, or died, but the truth is that for the last 4 months my family and I have all been lost in the true American consumer and capitalist society.  We've travelled all over this beloved and agrivatingly large nation, from New Hamshire to Florida to Texas and Colorado and just about everywhere inbetween.  And we did almost all of this travelling with my entire family of 6 crammed in our car.  We've had many difficult times during our extensive travels.  But we have also had many awesome times which have far outweighed the bad times.  So here are some pictures of the different places we've been and awesome experiences we've had...

Milia 06'

The Lord has been working in many ways this summer, from the lives of young American and international kids, to the hearts of those who have never heard the Gospel. I have seen young children and 80 year old men equally recieve salvation and have seen all the incredible joy that follows! The Lord has taken me and many others from working His Kingdom in an Americanized camp with American counselors and American kids to working His Kingdom in the middle of the bush 2 hours from any paved road or any good sized town.

This last week was spent in the middle of the bush, 2 hours from any paved road or any town that anyone has ever heard of. The Lord guided us as we drove 6 hours out of Nairobi to the middle of the bush to build the church, and He guided us as we lifted the heavy metal trusses, and He guided us as we perched oursleves on top of the slender walls to lift the trusses, and He guided us as we walked down the trails through the bush to visit the families, and He guided us as we ministered to them, and He guided them as they came to Faith...

It was an amazing trip and The Lord worked in and through us in many ways. Our mission was to roof this church, and that is what we did. During the day at least, in the evenings and afternoons we did evangelism with different families around. It was all together a great time and we really felt the Lord working while we were there, even despite opposition. But now the church is finished and they met in it the day we left! Praise the Lord!

Here's a "Before and after."

This was one of the best sunrises I've ever seen. And we saw it from the top of an 800 ft rock! It was incredible. We spent the night up there on the bare rock.

Brakenhurst is Awesome!

A long awaited and much appreciated week of normal school came after Samburu. But business didn't end there! Now we've caught up to last week when I was a Camper at camp Brakenhurst! Yeah, it was a little wierd but it was totally awesome!

Samburu (Again!)

Just after camp we took the trip to Borana that I have pics of in my last entry. I went back up to Samburu with my friends the Middletons that I told you about in an earlier entry the day after we got back from Borana! This time though I flew up there with an African Inland Mission (AIM) pilot. That was an experience all of it's own! We flew just past Mt. Kenya and seeing it in the early morning sun from the air was breath taking. I was up there for 2 weeks continuing to help the Middletons build thier house. I was there for the 4th of July also which turned out to be a wonderful Samburu holiday also. It was the time of year when the boys became worriors.

The Lord is Working!

Last month I went to camp Brakenhurst which is just like an American summer camp. I went to be a counselor and so I worked with Jr. high boys for a week! Camp Brakenhurst is a blessing to many, about 15 counselors come from the US for the summer to work with MKs (Missionary Kids) and other international kids that sign up to come to camp Brakenhurst. Camp is centred around our Lord, Jesus Christ and while I was a counselor there I had a cabin full of non-Christians. In fact I had several atheists, a stout Jew, and a Muslim. It was awesome to see the Lord reach everyone of my guys throughout the week and although we didn't have any conversions most of them asked for Bibles and asked some awesome questions.

Out of over 40 Jr. Highers (which was an enormous group) we had only about 6 professing Christians. And although most of the kids were Atheists, I have no doubt that many seeds were planted and that some day God will cause those seeds to produce fruit!
